T he Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park includes 67 RV lots. Each has water, sewer, and electricity hook-ups as well as concrete pads, fire pits, picnic tables, and free Wi-Fi access. The park is situated on a acre lake that is perfect for water activities and fishing.
I misread the information so I didn’t realize that their only facilities were outhouses But the site said picnic tables and fire pits were available. It did not said they weren’t available at each campsite. It seemed like we got a scolding from the owners every day we stayed there. Too expensive for what we got. Pioneer Point Campground
Dirt roads had lots of pot holes, camp sites were small with mostly dirt surface. It rained while we were there and mud was every where. Many seasonal campers with piles of junk all over. Our bikes were stolen during our stay and management blamed it on the trailer park across the lake. We will never go back here.

While our town is full of hotels and bed and breakfasts, camping in South Haven is one of the best ways to spend a summer weekend. Kal-Haven Outpost Kal-Haven Outpost recently opened in by two friends with a passion for camping. The campground also features brand-new camping cabins complete with modern amenities in groups of six surrounding a community bonfire pit.
Larger groups can rent the onsite duplex or house that can sleep up to nine or 10 people and have all the amenities of a modern home. The campground consists of over 80 RV sites including full hook-up, pop-up and seasonal sites. The park features clean public restrooms with showers, wireless internet, access to First Street Beach and a recreation hall to get to know other campers. Even with downtown South Haven nearby, the park still maintains a quiet atmosphere for a relaxing vacation.
This campground is more like a resort with a swimming pool on the property, an outdoor theater, playground, cafe and daily activities and games for kids and adults. You may even be lucky enough to be there on a themed weekend like their Wet and Wild Week or Christmas in July. The community feel of this campground is what attracts families and groups here. You may even make some friends at a community barbecue or during a game of sand volleyball. Located just steps away from Lake Michigan, this is the perfect spot to stay if you plan on spending time at the beach.

Both parks and private campgrounds provide camping experiences and a host of recreational activities. Enjoy a traditional Midwest camping experience at the national park’s Dunewood Campground. Campsites include 53 drive-in and 25 walk-in sites available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Facilities at this seasonal campground are limited to restrooms and showers. The big plus is that Lake Michigan is just a mile hike north of the campground. There are seven beach and swimming areas along the lakeshore for sunbathing and water play, but only swimmers at West Beach are protected by lifeguards. After filling up on s’mores and beach fun, enjoy hiking, biking, boating, fishing or birdwatching. The park is easily accessed by car, but a South Shore Railroad Station servicing Chicago, Illinois, and South Bend, Indiana, is located within walking distance of the campground.
